Laughing truly is Contagious...

Read an article today written by Andrea Thompson on a new study on brain which shows laughter really is contagious.

According to a new study, laughter truly is contagious: the brain responds to the sound of laughter and preps the muscles in the face to join in the mirth.

“It seems that it’s absolutely true that ‘laugh and the whole world laughs with you,’” said Sophie Scott, a neuroscientist at the University College London.

“We’ve known for some time that when we are talking to someone, we often mirror their behavior, copying the words they use and mimicking their gestures. Now we’ve shown that the same appears to apply to laughter, too — at least at the level of the brain.”

The contagiousness of positive emotions could be an important social factor, according to Scott. Some scientists think human ancestors may have laughed in groups before they could speak and that laughter may have been a precursor to language.

“We usually encounter positive emotions, such as laughter or cheering, in group situations, whether watching a comedy program with family or a football game with friends,” Scott said. “This response in the brain, automatically priming us to smile or laugh, provides a way or mirroring the behavior of others, something which helps us interact socially. It could play an important role in building strong bonds between individuals in a group.”

Keep laughing, it's good for your health :)

Hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday weekend :)

Cheers!! :)

I Love my Life, I Love to Relax...

"Be what you want to be; not what others want to see"

Experiences in life have taught me that worrying about something is just a waste of time. What is meant to happen happens anyway, so why worry? So, it's important to take time to relax, enjoy, celebrate and love your life.

“The most relaxing recreating forces are a healthy religion, sleep, music, and laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, love good music, see the funny side of life and health and happiness will be yours.” - Dale Carnegie, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living.

To me relaxing is doing everything that makes me happy.

  • I play cricket, I enjoy watching all kinds of sports and cheer for my favourite teams. I enjoy going for a jog on a nice sunny morning.
  • I watch movies I feel like watching, irrespective of what language they are.
  • I listen to some soothing melodious music, I've got all my favourite songs as playlists to suit my mood.
  • I sing songs that make me feel happy. I sing songs in all the languages I know and I sing not to impress anybody but just for myself, hence the reason I've not recorded any videos for a while. I just sing for myself in my room and that keeps me happy.
  • I eat whatever I feel like eating - I eat at KFC, McDonald's, etc I don't care if it's healthy or not as long as I enjoy my food. I cook some of the most delicious food in the world and makes me feel content after the meal cause I get the flavours right to pamper my taste buds.
  • I enjoy laughing with my best friends and I swear to crack jokes and make my friends laugh.
  • On weekends, I sleep for as long as I wish and I feel so refreshed.
  • I don't give a shit about what others think about me, so I dress the way I want, I say whatever I feel like saying. As long as I don't offend anybody, I can do everything that makes me feel good.

After saying goodbye to the dull winter, spring is here and the sun is smiling bright in the blue sky, so I don't wanna be indoors too long, gonna go out now to enjoy the sunshine :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Cheers!! :)

Beautiful Wedding Surprise...Part 2

Continued from Beautiful Wedding Surprise... and Short Films 'n' Wedding Proposals! ;)

Bank holiday weekends are a blessing - they give us the opportunity to relax and enjoy :) Hope you're all having a good one too!! :)

I admire people who sing at weddings - can be the parents, bride, bridegroom or anybody - singing at a wedding is very special and emotional as the newly wed couple will treasure the songs for the rest of their lives.

I love weddings on a boat or on a cruise, they are happier :)

Below are some videos of special moments which inspire me. Some day in the future, I'm gonna sing at my wedding, that's for sure - but what kinda approach will I take, what song am I gonna sing, what kinda chorus will I organise - that'll be a surprise.

It needs strength to express your feelings to your loved ones - when it matters the most. And let's check some videos of strong people who weren't shy at all to express themselves through singing!!!

Looking at the videos of bride's father singing, I remember my sister's wedding where my dad sang a song. On that day, I've practically seen the emotions of a father who gives the hand of his daughter to the man whom he believes will take good care of his daughter.

The confidence in the songs sung below by the bride's father comes from the trust he has on his about-to-be son-in-law that this man will love his daughter more than anybody else in this world.

At Nicole Cortez's wedding reception, her dad surprises her with a song and he even learnt to sing the song in sign language as Nicole is a sign language interpreter.

As the video describes her words, "At my wedding reception my dad surprises my husband and I by signing a beautiful song. I am a sign language interpreter so this meant the world to me. He said it took him the entire year I was engaged to learn how to sign this song."

If you have a brother, then sure check the below, laugher guaranteed:

Have a great Sunday!!!

Cheerio!!! :)
