Being a Healthy Perfectionist :)

Dedicated towards perfection, setting high personal standards, having a passion for excellence, giving extra attention to every detail, way too organised, etc - if you can associate yourself with any of these then yes, you are a perfectionist, I am one too! :)

As a child, I used to believe, “Give your best in everything you do”. I grew up to follow the principle of, “If you do it, do it right, give your 100% and nothing less, else - leave it and forget about it”.
It worked in school, but in my late teen years, a few setbacks, shortcomings and failures in life at college level taught me that nobody can be perfect. Aiming for perfection results in lots of tension and stress.

I love being perfect in everything I do and even in my behaviour as well, wish to be 100% good character, personality, sincere, hard working, honest, truthful, sober, decent, elegant, flawless, etc. Sometimes I wonder if people misunderstand my blog posts to be self-boasting, cause I portray myself as having the best approach towards life, but of course I can’t be right always, I am a failure too, I am foolish and act a stupid too sometimes but I learn a lot of useful lessons from my mistakes.

A lot changed in me since I came to UK, the perfectionist in me got compromised with the fact that nothing in this world can be 100% we are all imperfect and that is what makes life so beautiful. Yes, whats the fun if everybody is the best?

Perfectionism has both sides, but it’d be great if we can follow only the healthy side of it - aiming for high standards helps us reach greater heights, but we should be ready to constructively accept any kind of setbacks that come on our way to reach our goals.
So, let us try being healthy perfectionists and see how happy it can transform our lives :)

Take care, Cheers!! :)
