Since childhood, I've been so used to listening to only Indian music - radio at home and music that plays on the television and most of it was Indian(Hindi & Telugu) film songs, instrumental and classical Indian music. Only after I came to England, I got introduced to the English(Western) music, specially listening on the radio.
Being a lyric lover, I enjoyed songs with meaningful lines, so most of the times I listened to romantic melodies and when it came to instrumental - guitar solos were my favourite. In 2011 and 12, I slowly got taste of the variety in western music. I always had my favourite among the weekly singles charts - 'UK Official Top 40 songs'.
In late 2013, I turned to hard rock and different types of dark, deep heavy metal music to overcome the lows and pressure of not being able to find a professional job, being away from home and family since 3 years and loneliness was on rise and slowly my mp3 player's rock and heavy metal playlist started growing and made me feel better and better and I began to explore and enjoy this amazing music!!
Finally in early 2014, I got the real taste of music - I've discovered my favourite genre of music - I love "Hard Rock n Heavy Metal".
My favourite hard rock bands are Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles, Queen, Oasis, AC/DC, etc
Below is an iconic song which was one of my first inspirations to embrace hard rock music!
Sweet Child O' Mine is my all time favourite guitar solo and the best by Slash:
