“Life is but a compromise”, said my Ma and she continued, “You can’t get everything you want, you need to adjust. To survive in this competitive world, you should learn to sacrifice. We all have many dreams and aspirations but only few of them get fulfilled.”
Her words went straight into my heart as I always realize late in life.
Yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, but today can make a big difference. Yes, today well lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a bright vision of hope.
So my dear friend, let us make the most of today; Carpe Diem - seize this day.
This evening, I walked alone on the terrace watching the golden sunset. The blowing wind whispered into my ears the soothing tune of this evergreen song...
I started singing this song aloud and was lost in the meaning of each line. My soul floated in the flavour of this song and I forgot the world around me as my mind achieved a sense of tranquility.
The mood of the song touched the bottom of my heart and tears rolled down my cheeks as the lyrics of this song reflects the events of life like a shinning mirror.
The song is from the 1970 Hindi movie "Anand". Hats of to the fabulous lyrics writer "Yogesh", the memorable voice of "Mukesh", the music of "Salil Chowdhury" and the expressions of "Rajesh Khanna" in the video, shared below from You Tube.
Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye Sanjh Ki Dulhan Badan Churaye Chupke Se Aaye Mere Khayaalon Ke Aangan Mein Koi Sapnon Ke Deep Jalaaye...
Kabhi Yunhi Jab Hui Bojhal Saansen Bhar Aayi Baithe Baithe Jab Yunhi Aankhen Tabhi Machal Ke Pyar Se Chal Ke Chhuye Koi Mujhe Par Nazar Na Aaye Kahin Door...
Kahin To Ye Dil kabhi Mil Nahin Paate Kahin Se Nikal Aaye Janmon Ke Naate Ghani Thi Uljhan Bairi Apnaa man Apnaa Hi Hoke Sahe Dard Paraaye, Kahin Door...
Dil Jaane Mere Saare Bhed Ye Gahare Ho Gaye Kaise mere Sapne Sunahare Ye Mere Sapne Yahi To Hain Apne Mujhse Judaa Na Honge Inke Ye Saaye, Kahin Door...
In the courtyard of my thoughts, this song lit the lamps of dreams…
Today morning I woke up hearing to the song “Chhookar Mere Man Ko” from the 1981 Hindi film "Yaarana" which was being aired on the radio.
I watched Yaarana many times since school days and love all the songs from the movie and have them on my mp3 player. But today was different, I found this particular song more touching and felt both the tune and lyrics afresh and so allowed it to take over the rest of my day.
I was humming the song as I brushed my teeth this morning and sang it aloud as I showered. Then later I tuned it on my mp3 player and went onto hear it again and again the whole day. I lost count but I would have definitely listened to it for more than fifty times today.
This song totally touched my mind as love overflowed in my heart, changing my day into a wonderful one, making the world around me today - look very special, beautiful and lovely...
Now with this blog post, I take chance to hear it again and enjoy watching this video on YouTube.
Chhookar Mere Man Ko Kiya Toone Kya Ishaara
Badla Yeh Mausam Lage Pyaara Jag Saara
Tu Jo Kahe Jeevan Bhar Tere Liye Maein Gaoon
Geet Tere Bolon Pe Likhta Chala Jaoon
Mere Geeton Mein Tujhe Dhoonde Jag Saara
Chhookar Mere Man Ko.....
Aaja Tera Aanchal Yeh Pyaar Se Maein Bhar Doon
Khushiyaan Jahan Bhar Ki Tujhko Nazar Kar Doon
Tu Hi Mera Jeevan Tu Hi Jeene Ka Sahaara
Chhookar Mere Man Ko.....
The ever melodious golden voice of Kishore Kumar, lyrics by Anjaan, music by Rajesh Roshan and on-screen presence by my all time favourite actor 'Amitabh Bachchan' paired with Neetu Singh - are the highlights of this song.
When was the last time a song touched your heart in the morning and went on to take over the rest of your day?
