Today morning I woke up hearing to the song “Chhookar Mere Man Ko” from the 1981 Hindi film "Yaarana" which was being aired on the radio.
I watched Yaarana many times since school days and love all the songs from the movie and have them on my mp3 player. But today was different, I found this particular song more touching and felt both the tune and lyrics afresh and so allowed it to take over the rest of my day.
I was humming the song as I brushed my teeth this morning and sang it aloud as I showered. Then later I tuned it on my mp3 player and went onto hear it again and again the whole day. I lost count but I would have definitely listened to it for more than fifty times today.
This song totally touched my mind as love overflowed in my heart, changing my day into a wonderful one, making the world around me today - look very special, beautiful and lovely...
Now with this blog post, I take chance to hear it again and enjoy watching this video on YouTube.
Chhookar Mere Man Ko Kiya Toone Kya Ishaara
Badla Yeh Mausam Lage Pyaara Jag Saara
Tu Jo Kahe Jeevan Bhar Tere Liye Maein Gaoon
Geet Tere Bolon Pe Likhta Chala Jaoon
Mere Geeton Mein Tujhe Dhoonde Jag Saara
Chhookar Mere Man Ko.....
Aaja Tera Aanchal Yeh Pyaar Se Maein Bhar Doon
Khushiyaan Jahan Bhar Ki Tujhko Nazar Kar Doon
Tu Hi Mera Jeevan Tu Hi Jeene Ka Sahaara
Chhookar Mere Man Ko.....
The ever melodious golden voice of Kishore Kumar, lyrics by Anjaan, music by Rajesh Roshan and on-screen presence by my all time favourite actor 'Amitabh Bachchan' paired with Neetu Singh - are the highlights of this song.
When was the last time a song touched your heart in the morning and went on to take over the rest of your day?
And what was that song?

@Ramesh Bhai :
Thanks a lot Bhai, for sharing here, your favourite number.
"500 miles away from home" - is one good song which I always listen to when I feel very lonely.
It is a very touching song, especially these lines bring tears :
Teardrops fell on mama's note,
when I read the things she wrote
She said "We miss you son, we love you, come on home"
And these lines carry a lot of meaning as well :
I know this is the same coat
I took when I left home
But it sure looks different now
And I guess I look different too
But time changes everything
Cheers,
Charan.
