Biting Baby Cheeks :)

I'd like to share with you a funny incident that happened many years ago!!

I love children a lot, be it babies or toddlers, I handle them carefully, I've got all the patience in the world while dealing with a sulking child. But I have this habit of giving gentle bites to babies cheeks, specially babies with chubby fat cheeks!! :)

Here is that incident which happened like 5 years ago.

We had visitors at home, there was this 10 month old baby boy who is my cousin's first child. I took him on my shoulders and sat on the couch, started to gently bite his chubby fat cheeks. As I ate his plump cheeks, they turned from rosy pink to red.

His mom got worried, "Charan, stop that biting, he might get into a crying mood". But as she spoke, I suddenly felt my t-shirt wet on my chest and then my shorts felt wet too - OMG!! I stood up to find that this kid passed urine on me. Everyone in the family laughed as I rushed with one side wet clothes to take a shower.

After I was back from the shower, my cousin asked me, "Would you like to bite his cheeks again? I think he loves it". I said, "May be he loves it but I don't wanna take another shower".

I was asked, "Charan, why are you always after babies cheeks?"

And my answer was, "Well, when I hold a baby who has fat plump cheeks, to me they'll look like tasty burgers and ripe sweet apples and the cheeks seem to invite and tempt me, "Please, have a bite!!" and most of the times after giving a bite, I get the smell/taste of 'Johnson & Johnson baby powder' on them".

One of my aunt was sarcastic enough, she said, "When you have kids, they'll have to wear “Cheek-Protective Masks” to safeguard themselves from their "Crazy Cheek Biting Dad".

I told her, "I've been biting babies cheeks since my childhood and never did any baby cry or complain, instead they've enjoyed it, babies find joy in gentle biting, cause it tickles them and churns the creamy milk of their cheeks, making them even softer".

Aunt said, "Hmm.., now I can understand why babies enjoy it, it helps them wet your clothes!".

Everyone laughed!!

So, the moral I've learnt from this experience was: Before taking a bite of a baby's cheeks, always check if the little one is wearing a diaper/nappy - if yes, then go ahead else, be prepared to take a shower!!

(Beware Babies! there are cheek biters around, save the tenderness of your cheeks)

I don't mind taking multiple showers, cause taking a gentle bite of juicy baby cheeks is really worth it!! :)

Hope this message gave you a basket full of smiles :)

Have a great day, take care :)

Poem: I wish I was...

Poem: I wish I was...

I wish I was

A ray of morning sun
that gives warmth to
A dew covered leaf

A wick of candle
that spreads light in
A poor man's hut

A grain of wheat
that feeds hunger of
A flying sparrow

A drop of river
that quenches thirst of
A traveller's soul

A thought of mind
that soothes the heart
And gives you a smile...

Believe, It's Possible...

It's possible, your dream, your goal, yes it's definitely possible if you believe in yourself. "Feed your mind with your dreams, feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death".

I remember a story which I read years ago, it still inspires me everytime I get reminded of it:

Two little boys were playing outdoors with snow during winter. They went further up onto a small frozen lake and suddenly one of the boys stepped on a thin layer of ice which broke and he fell into it and his buddy outside tried to save him but he couldn't reach and pull him and quickly the layer refroze and the boy was stuck inside.

His friend outside can see him struggling through the transparent layer of ice, he tried to break the ice but couldn't and didn't know what to do. He turned around and found a tree nearby and he ran, got up on the tree, pulled down a big branch, dragged the branch and hit the ice and broke the frozen layer and miraculaously saved his friend.

And when the paramedics arrived, they saved the little boy's life but they were shocked to see the size of the tree branch lying over there and confused how was it possible for such a little boy to break off a branch that size and then carry it back, dig through the layer of ice and save his friend.

An old man who was standing there heard their conversation and said, "I know how he has done it"

They asked him, "How?"

He said, "There was nobody here to tell him that he couldn't do it"

So, no matter how many people say that it's impossible, always believe, it's possible!

Have a great day, Cheers! :)

Poem: Temple in my Heart...

Today evening, while watching the sunset sitting near the window, I wrote this poem, hope you'll like it :)

Poem: Temple in my Heart...

I built a temple in my heart
Invited God to come and live there
God obliged my request

So when I fold my hands
And close my eyes
I say a prayer for your happiness

And when I open my eyes
I am honest and truthful
Cause I walk with God in my heart...

Be a Winner in Life...Determination...

Here is the Part 4 of the Be a Winner in Life series, continued from Part 3, Part 2 and Part 1 :)

"If I fall, I will get back up. If I am beaten, I will return"

Sometimes the harder you try, the more difficult your goal would seem. Failures, criticism, obstacles - they test your will but it is your duty to be determined and never ever give up!

Here are some quotes which the boxing legend Muhammad Ali wrote in his book, co-authored by his daughter Hana Ali, "The Soul of a Butterfly",

"I hated every minute of training, but I said to myself, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion'."

"Often it isn't the mountains ahead that wear you out, it's the little pebble in your shoe."

"Always confront the things you fear. Face the problem boldly."

"Whatever the challenge was, however unattainable the goal may have seemed. I never let anyone talk me out of believing myself".

Today's motivational video is Will Smith's secrets of success, he says the first step before anybody else in the world believes it, you have to believe it. Make a choice, you just decide what its gonna be, who you gonna be and how you gonna do it and from then the universe will get out of your way. He shares something he learnt from his life, do check this video:

Work hard towards your goal, someday you will achieve it,

All the best, take care :)

Genuine Caring...

An act of kindness, understanding, being considerate, empathising, sympathetic, compassionate - they are all part of genuinely caring for someone, it means being there when they actually need you.

Genuine caring is simple to practice and double rewarding - spreads joy, comfort and relaxation to both the giving as well as the receiving end :) It is something that you sincerely mean and care from the bottom of your heart and not show care just for the sake of it.

Positive emotions are very healthy to the body, mind and soul. Truly caring for a loved one gives great satisfaction and immense happiness and is said to make your heart healthy, relieve from stress and strengthens the immune system :)

So, along with small children and the elderly, let us be genuinely caring towards every soul around us, which develops positive emotions and keep our heart happy :)

Have a lovely Sunday,

Take care!!  :)

A Kind Girl's Heart...

A kind girl is one who

when you bring her a beautiful dress made out of the finest materials in the world, embroidered with decorations and costly fabrics to flatter her figure. Gift her the most expensive jewellery, ornaments embedded with diamonds and precious stones.

Would put them all aside and asks for

warmth of your heart

comfort of your hug

light of your eyes

thoughts of your mind

essence of your spirit

rays of your inner soul

And then she

sows her feelings and emotions in the garden of your heart

laughs and cries with you; walks in the rain with you and then sees the rainbows and sunshine with you

She would make you realise that before you met her, you didn't even knew how incomplete you were. She comes into your life and makes you complete. And every time you look into the mirror, you see her - you find her in you, her heart living inside your heart!

The heart of such a girl would be her man's most treasured possession! :)

Have a nice day, take care :)

Poem: Joy of Spring :)

Since the last couple of months I've been writing either on motivation or love - did you get bored? Well, here is something different, a poem on spring season :)

Update on 02/05/13:
Revision: Narration style of the poem was revised to make it simpler and thoughts explained in detail :)

This poem celebrates the start of spring season, so the word, 'innocence' couldn't be justified in its title, so I've changed it to 'Joy of Spring' :) sounds relevant now isn't it? :)

I have thoughts to share on the innocence of nature so I started writing a poem titled, 'Innocence', will post it soon :)

Poem: Joy of Spring (Revised)

Shining sun lights up the sky
As morning dew forms pearls
Wind blows gently through the fields
As sheep graze and stare naively

Birds melodiously sing like a choir
As squirrels play in cool grass
Fragrant flowers start to bloom
As colourful butterflies fly along

Celebrations have already begun
With sweet surprises pouring in
The little girl giggles as the puppy laughs
Together they bring us the joy of spring :)
