Snoring on the Train...

I was travelling on Godavari Express from Hyderabad to Vizag. After having dinner, it was time to sleep.

Soothing songs on my mp3 player made me float like a feathery cloud in deep blue sky of sleep - all of a sudden, a thunderbolt struck me. Yes, a big, loud, weird and a deadly thunderbolt.

From the middle birth, I bent down to find that the tall hefty man on lower birth was snoring at his best ever. With every exhalation, the snore grew even louder surpassing the maximum decibel limit inside a railway compartment.

Immediately I turned the volume high on my mp3 player, but still the snore was able to murder every song that played on. I wondered whether I was sleeping inside a lion's den with the lion roaring straight into my ears.

And another surprising thing was, the way others were able to sleep with such loud sound in the air, so loud that it could tear apart every ear drum that it kisses. May be God was kind to them, blessing them to turn deaf for this one night? Or maybe everyone is afraid of disturbing the extra tall, hefty gentleman.

In the middle of the night, I somehow got the idea to wake him up and request him to sign a deal - you sleep for a few hours then give us a chance - wake up, stay awake, allow us to sleep for the same time.

But I was so doubtful whether I could convince him or not? And as I continued to ponder, the train reached its destination. I realized then that I was awake almost the whole night, unable to sleep, not even for a few proper minutes.

Well my dear friend, do spare two minutes to tell me when was the last time you were exposed to snoring at its peak levels while travelling?

Please share your experiences and suggest me any tips or tricks so that I could shield myself next time from this deadly weapon - SNORING :)

Trust...

I read this small story in a periodical today. You might have read the same or a similar one, but it’s nice to read again :)

When a soldier was injured and couldn’t get back to safety, his buddy went out to get him against his officer’s orders. He returned back mortally wounded and carried his friend on back who was already dead.

The officer was angry, “I told you not to go. Now I lost not one but both of you, it was not worth it”.

The dying man replied, “But it was more than worthy sir, because when I got to him he said, Sally I knew you would definitely come for me”.

Blissful Morning...

Twinkling stars giggled all through the night watching themselves in the clear pond water. And deep inside a well, the image of the full moon sky floated all through the night.

Time has come for the cool moonlit night to bid farewell giving way to a sweet morning.

Bells of the temple started ringing at morning's earliest hour signaling us that it’s time to wake up. People smeared sindoor on their foreheads as morning rituals began.

Oil is poured into the temple lamps and are lighted. Every divine ray emitted from the lighted lamps is illuminating the minds of all the devotees.

The elements of nature are all at complete peace as I now begin my morning walk through the countryside…

Look how blissful the morning is…

As tender morning sun rays tickle the seeds which are sprouting from the soft and wet soil, the noblest feelings of our soul begin to glow. The wheat stalk opened its eyes as it was touched by the freshness of the morning breeze.

Look at the gardens full of blooming flowers, they are spread as far as eyes could see. Innocent flower petals are carefully observing the laughter in the sun as the sparrows flutter and spin, busily searching for grain.

Look how blissful the morning is…

Farmers began tilling their fields and planting rice saplings and are enjoying the gentle tune of flute that came wafting in the breeze which got soaked in the aroma of flowers which are blooming by the riverside.

A chubby little boy is playing his flute sitting on the bank of a river. The fresh, crystal clear river water flows carrying along with them the little boy’s tunes to distant lands.

The fisherman’s boat beside the shore smiles at the little lad who enjoys as his flute tunes dance a duet with the sparkling early morning sun rays on the river water.

Look how blissful the morning is…

Cotton wool clouds started displaying many patterns of colours this morning as they started rolling into the clear blue sky. Birds are getting thrilled at the sight of trees which are laden full of fragrant flowers and succulent fruits.

Clear cool dew drops on lotus flowers in the lake are reflecting the gentle sun rays like shinning mirrors. Flocks which are grazing on the slopes gazed upon the sun illuminated sky as they chewed tasty grass.

Children playing on the river bank started building pyramids with the river sand. Some started chasing vibrant coloured butterflies, some were after dragonflies and the others were busy collecting ripe berries.

Really so very blissful this morning is…

Alone...

Alone...

Very few people help us in life,

The rest just attend our funeral,

But will at least one among them,

Come along on the day we depart?

Parents, children, sisters, brothers,

Friends, colleagues, acquaintances,

Husband, wife, well wishers, associates,

Who will come along the day we die?

We are born alone, we die alone…
