Secret to Ultimate Freedom...

On my birthday last year, I took a resolution, "To live my life without expecting anything from anyone." It was a hard to follow, I broke it a few times but re-assured myself and continued to follow it and now after a year I enjoy the satisfaction and inner bliss I enjoy and that is the reward I got from expecting nothing. :)

Expectation is indeed the root of all heartache - try to give up expectations and your life is pure bliss!! :)

A life without expectations is the secret to ultimate freedom - wonder why?

Well, if you don't expect anything, you are liberated cause you are not worried anymore because your desires don't control you. You are free from the outcome of anything in life - cause you are willing to accept both good or bad equally. That way you will continue to remain in the state of happiness irrespective of whether your desires are getting fulfilled or not.

The moment you stop expecting anything from anyone, your body turns calm and is always at peace. You need not go for a vacation to relax, cause you are always in a state of relaxation. You are no longer frustrated or angry or disappointed or sad because they are the result of expectation and occur when things don’t work as planned.

Benefits include:
  • Low stress
  • Happier relationships
  • Beautiful inner peace

Do what you have to do as normal in life and leave the rest to God.

You must have noticed that since last year, I've stopped sharing my singing videos here on my blog. I still enjoy singing the same as before and I do sing on most weekends but I can't be bothered to record anything anymore cause I don't worry about sharing it with anybody. I need not impress anyone. I just sing for my own happiness.

Be satisfied with what you have already got. When you get up in the morning, you are able to breathe well and whatever good you are eating is getting digested properly - that should be enough for you, that is the greatest achievement, that is the greatest goal. If your health is great, the rest come next.

The satisfaction that you are existing, this moment you are alive, this moment you are surviving without the support of any device - what else would you need apart from that?  Then, as the next step, you go out and you do whatever you have to do in the outside world.

The real achievement is that you are able to enjoy the most wonderful energies which nature has given us - Air, Water, Fire and Earth. If you have that satisfaction that you have a capable body to enjoy nature's resources, the rest is all a bonus. It is a gift that you are surviving - you need to have that satisfaction first.

Then, yes you can have many other smaller goals to achieve in the material world. Knowing about yourself must be your first desire after that you can have a thousand other desires. Without knowing about yourself, you learn about others, the world around you. So, first start learning about your own self and understand the soul within you.

Coming to my smaller desires - the two dreams of my life were to work for my dream company and meet my soulmate. After gaining years of work experience, I feel confident that I shall have a stable career. The only desire I had was to find a girlfriend and was hoping to meet my soulmate. But I understood that it doesn't work like that, love happens when it has to happen, so I realised there's no point in searching for love, so I let that desire go. I believe God has a plan for my life and when the time is right, I shall meet my girl, until then, I shall enjoy my life and carry on without any expectations.

I was hoping to continue friendship with all the girls whom I had crushes on since childhood. But as I've stopped expecting anything, I told myself that I shouldn't expect even their friendship. I wished them well in my mind and in my prayers and freed them off from my mind. I let them fly away and my heart feels feather light.

After more than 5 years of living in Britain and experiencing the western culture, I realised that marriage is a choice in life and not a necessity. So, I shall only choose it after a long relationship, spending enough time living with the girl, knowing her, understanding her and I shall make a call only if I believe that I could see a future together, else I shall carry on and meet somebody else. Life goes on. Of course I have hand-written letters for my future wife - but that doesn't make marriage an obligation to me. If it happens, let it happen, else, I shall still love and be happy in life - either way is ok.

Live in the present and enjoy each day like a blessing!! :)

Have a great week!!

Cheers!! :)
