O sparrow from distant lands,

What is that sweetest word,

Which you heard all your life?

In the utterance of that word,

There is no fear, ache or pain,

No hunger, thirst or any desire…

The word is the best in any language,

The word is the source for every race,

'Mother' is that word, ruling the world…

Mother is the synonym for heaven,

Mother is address of an open heart,

Mother is a pool of cool moonlight...

Ma’s love fills an empty stomach,

Ma’s slap blesses cheek to turn rosy,

Ma’s shade is cooler than the snow...

Ma’s smiles are brighter than sun rays,

Ma’s touch has the comfort of a feather,

Ma’s eyes have the kindness of universe...

Forgive me Ma for hurting you sometimes,

I wish you a very Happy Mother's day,

Unconditional Love...

Dear Readers, this is the 100th post of Beyond Barriers... thank you all for the support and encouragement since 2008 :)

Does true love really exist beyond movies and novels? How exactly does it feel to love or be loved by someone unconditionally?

Loving a person as a whole, for what they really are, accepting their flaws, having no complaints or demands, genuinely caring and wishing for their happiness, expecting nothing in return. Can we call it as unconditional love?

Based on our personal experiences, each one of us might have a different definition for this, but still its more or less the same.

A mother loves her child when he is obedient; when that same child disobeys her, spoils the house, she will still love him the same and nothing less. So irrespective of the child's actions and choices, parents love remains unconditional.

Some get it from family, some from friends, some feel it while praying to God, some from their pets, etc. Unconditional love is in every bond, but once people start expecting something in return, it seizes to exist, else it flows forever in the hearts which are open and innocent.

Love is real when we appreciate a person straight from the heart, this bridges gaps, differences, allowing hearts to blossom. This theory need not relate to lovers love, it can hold good to any relationship.

Unconditional love requires a little compromise, some sacrifice and willingness to look from the other person's perspective. If we are ready for it, then we can have it.

Start giving the love which you really wish to receive, Start loving unconditionally...

Live your Way!!

Dear Readers, now that I am done with my assignments, am back to sharing thoughts...

How often do you compromise, please, adjust - at home, work - with family, friends? at some point you find yourself just living for others around you, wheres your life gone, you too have a choice, don't you? 

I've seen people struggling with the choice between pleasing others and doing what they want to do. Its easy to say, "Just be yourself, be nice, polite, share happiness and do good to everyone", how perfect would the world be if that would've worked? Reality is different, people judge you, have different opinions, values, expectations, what not.

There are people who wish to keep everyone around them happy, but it doesn't work always, sometimes you are criticized, not everyone likes or appreciates what you do. Its hard to overlook what people think of you and it leaves you uncomfortable when someone disapproves your actions or thinks bad of you.

Why please others before yourself, value your opinion, do what you like and live life your way!!

Some may find it right, some wrong, but always stick to your way, only that will keep you happy!! :)

Being Selfless! :)

How does it feels like to be selfless, good isn't it? 

Hey, I am no Saint to give a lecture on selflessness, cause am selfish too, but every time you sacrifice something, small or big, for the sake of others happiness, you are left with a good feeling, some satisfaction and contentment!

Not many people think of others when it comes to decision on their own comforts. If just a small sacrifice from your side is making someone happy - be it family, friends or anyone, then don't hesitate, just do it to see them happy in the end!!

Those who always wish good for everyone around them, are able to derive joy out of others happiness,  isn't their joy getting doubled? Cause they are happy when they succeed and happy when others succeed too!! they enjoy the bliss of a pure heart which is jealousy free!!

I am not talking philosophy here, but people live, people die, generations come, generations go, new weird diseases strike, natural disasters, accidents, what not!! there is everything out there that makes our future unpredictable. So, living in this world just for the sake of surviving is not a big deal, anyone can do that - but how you live is what that counts!!

Someday when you turn old, sit there on that chair in the lawn watching the sunset with your grandchild on your lap, don't you think you should be proud to take him on a walk through the lanes of your memories, explain him how you sacrificed for others happiness, how you derived satisfaction out of helping others!

Being selfless is the sign of a Content Soul!!
